Obituary of David A. Bogardus

Colonie - David A. Bogardus, 67, died Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.  Born in Albany, David had lived on Van Buren Ave. in Colonie for the past 46 years.  He was a proud City of Albany fireman for over 20 years, retiring in 1992.  He was a member of the Albany Permanent Professional Firefighter’s Association, Local # 2007.  David loved NASCAR and enthusiastically enjoyed dirt track racing, especially at Fonda Speedway and was a part owner of one of the race cars.  

     David is survived by his son, Richard Bogardus (Alexis); grandchildren, Brody, Aidan and Avery; and his best friend, Janet Brownell.  He was predeceased by his parents, William and Marjorie O’Connor Bogardus; wife, Joan Bogardus; long time partner, Kathy Cline; and son, Jeffrey Bogardus.

    Relatives and friends may call at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 9 - 11 a.m.  A prayer service will be held at 11:00 a.m.   For those who wish, memorial donations to the Albany Permanent Professional Firefighter’s Benevolent Association, 39 Quail St., Albany, NY 12206 would be appreciated.
