Colonie - Shirley A. O’Toole, 82, died suddenly at home on Sunday, February 23, 2020. Born in Albany, Shirley was the daughter of the late Violet Cotton and Francis O’Toole. Shirley had a sweet and loving heart. She loved her family and friends dearly and would do anything for them. She crocheted hats and scarves for her family and for organizations that she was fond of. You would also find her writing and sending out cards to cheer someone up. Burger King or Dunkin Donuts and coffee was always a treat that she loved. She also loved her puzzle books or cards to play solitaire. She had a great love and tenderness for animals. Her living room bookshelves were filled with cat and dog ceramics and trinkets. A nightly routine , for her, would be to watch Pet Connection and if she missed one she would call her niece to bring her iPad over to look it up on the web. Shirley was loved by all and will be sorely missed. Shirley was the sister of Frances Giardino and the late Eleanor Bialobzeski, Mary O’Toole, Kenneth O’Toole, Margaret Barile, Agnes Barile, Lorraine O’Toole and Joan Tanski. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 29, 2020.
