ALBANY---Aldin J Countryman, 92, of Sycamore St., died peacefully  on Saturday November 12, 2016    Aldin was born in Albany on July 6,1924 and was the son on the late Allen and Maida Fitzgerald Countryman. He was raised and resided in New Salem before moving to Albany.     He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during WW II.  During those years he was trained to be a large equipment operator, and then enjoyed many years of employment by the John DiGiulio Construction Co. He was a member of the  International Operating Engineers local #158 since 1951(65 yrs).  Al was a member of Albany Elks Lodge #49,the American Legion Post #1530, and a life member of the Sheehy-Palmer VFW Post # 6776.    Al enjoyed bowling for many years and also was an avid Mets fan.     Aldin was the loving and devoted husband of the late Lillian Weisenburn Countryman,who he married in 1952; brother or Nina Voss, Lydia Coon, and the late Edward Countryman, Elmer Countryman, Effie Seidel, Myrtle Dawson; uncle of Bruce Countryman, Bonnie Griffin, Darla Weisenburn, Wes Weisenburn and several other nieces and nephews.    Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock on Friday at the Reilly and Son Funeral Home in Voorheesville. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Colonie.  Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
