Bethlehem - Jean Ozard Beals, 100, died Saturday, November 7, 2015 at her home. Born in Zanesville, Ohio, Jean was the daughter of the late Blanche Boyer Rambo and Orla Rankin Rambo. Jean moved to New Scotland in 1952 and for the last nine years has lived at Beverwyck in Bethlehem. She was employed as a teacher for several years in Zanesville and then for 20 years as a First Grade teacher at the Voorheesville Elementary School before her retirement in 1975. Jean was a member of the New Scotland Presbyterian Church for more than 60 years and a volunteer for the Red Cross. Jean was the wife of the late William E. Ozard and Donald E. Beals; mother of Janet Root (Ken) of Kendall, NY, Lynne Burke (W. Vincent) of Darien, CT and John Ozard (Susan Wolfe) of Voorheesville; sister of the late Helen Rambo; grandmother of Jeffrey K. Root, Brian W. Root (Linda), Sean V. Burke, Brendan W. Burke and Liam S. Burke (Heather); and great-grandmother of Shepard W. Burke and Griffin S. Burke. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 o’clock on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the New Scotland Presbyterian Church, 2010 New Scotland Rd., Slingerlands, NY 12159. Jean’s family would like to thank all of her caregivers over the years, especially Daniela Filmer, Hilary Snare, Jessica Casteneda, Angelica Lanzot, Holly Nash and June Hopkins.
