Yorktown, VA - Mary Jane “Janie” Friebel, 69, formerly of Guilderland died Friday, July 17, 2015 in Virginia. Born in Malden, MA, Mary Jane was the daughter of the late Rita and Mac McDaniel. She was a 1965 graduate fo Guilderland High School and attended Cybernetics Institute in Albany. Janie worked for Denny’s Restaurants for 20 years. Survivors include her husband, Dennis Friebel; her stepson, Steven Friebel; her sister, Denise “Dee” McDaniel; nephews, Brett Kwiatkowski, Patrick VonDell and Nick Friebel; nieces, Christine Huttner and Derriere O’Connor; a brother-in-law, Ed Friebel; and sister-in-law, Susan Friebel. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumpter Ave., Guilderland. Entombment will follow at Memory’s Garden Cemetery in Colonie. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 - 7 p.m. in the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Voorheesville.
