Obituary of Eleanor L. Hisgen

Grandview, MO - Eleanor L. Hisgen, 92, entered into the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at her daughter's home in Grandview, MO. Born in Albany on September 8, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Lena Happel Haagner, and the sister of the late Dorothy M. Haagner and William T. Haagner. Eleanor graduated from Albany High School and Mildred Elley Business School and worked throughout her life as an executive secretary both in the private sector and for the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation. Eleanor was married to the late Adam G. Hisgen and together they had two children, Michelle L. Bunkoff and the late David J. Hisgen. She is survived by her daughter Michelle (and Steven); her grandson Christopher D. Bunkoff of Celina, TX; her granddaughters, Denise L. DeMilio of Warwick, NY and Meredith L. Phillips of Milford, PA; seven great-grandchildren; two nieces, Anita M. Germano of Latham and Alma E. Brustle of Clifton Park; and her sister-in-law, Alma Haagner Mitchell. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Monday, May 2, 2011 at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Colonie. Friends may also visit at the funeral home Monday from 11:00 am ot 12:00 noon, prior to the service.
