COLONIE - Katherine Laughlin Loveday, 85, of Colonie Manor died peacefully Thursday, April 28, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Born in Spring Lake, NJ, she lived in Albany for many years before she moved to Sand Creek Rd. in Colonie in 1978 and more recently to Colonie Manor. Katherine was a homemaker most of her life. She also spent 13 years as a school crossing guard in Albany. She was a member and past president of the VFW Post 1019 Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Silver Streakers in the Towers of Colonie. Katherine was the wife of the late John V. Loveday; mother of Dorothy Hogan of Duanesburg, John V. Loveday, Jr. of Saratoga and the late Daniel A. Loveday; sister of Thomas A. Laughlin of Neptune City, NJ; grandmother of Thomas, Andrew and Patrick Hogan; and great-grandmother of Tomas, Angel and Daniel Hogan and Veronica Sickler. Funeral 8:30 Monday morning from the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie and at 9:30 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 125 Eagle St., Albany, NY. Burial will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 - 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
