Voorheesville - Marilyn Bennett Farrell, 82, of Voorheesville died Thursday, February 17, 2011 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital. Born in Indian Lake, Marilyn had lived in Voorheesville for the past 58 years. She was a graduate of Indian Lake High School, received her BA in Music Education from Fredonia State, her Master's in Elementary Education from Oneonta and then worked for 35 years as an Elementary School Teacher in the Voorheesville School District. Marilyn was a communicant of St. Matthew's Church in Voorheesville and was a former organist at the church. She was a member of Genetaska in New Scotland, the Thursday Night Chorus and the Red Hat Society. Marily was the wife 60 years of Robert M. Farrell; mother of John Farrell (Christine) of Cliffside Park, NJ and the late Matthew Charles Farrell; grandmother of Matthew Dohln Farrell and Meaghan Julia Farrell; and sister of the late Katherine, Stella and Joel. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30 Tuesday morning at St. Matthew's Church, Mountainview St., Voorheesville. Burial will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 - 8 p.m. in the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Voorheesville.
